GRAND TOUR OF POLAND

1th Day ARRIVAL TO WARSAW :
Arrival in Warsaw. Meeting with a local escort guide and transfer by bus to the center of Warsaw, the capital of Poland that represents for the Poles the largest cultural, scientific and economic center of the nation. Occupied by the Germans during the Second World War and razed to the ground, it was faithfully rebuilt in the old part. During the visit you can admire: the Old Town with the Castle Square and the Sigismund's Column, the Barbican, the Cathedral of St. John, Krakowskie Przedmiescie Avenue. Also: the area of the former Jewish Ghetto, the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, the Monument of the Warsaw Uprising, the Palace of Culture and Science and other significant places. Hotel accommodation. Dinner and overnight stay.
2nd Day WARSAW / MALBORK / GDANSK :
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Gdansk with a stop in Malbork, for a guided tour of the 13th century Teutonic Castle, a splendid example of medieval defensive construction, the largest medieval castle in Europe included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Lunch in a restaurant. In the late afternoon arrival in Gdansk, hotel accommodation. Dinner and overnight stay.


3rd Day GDANSK / SOPOT :
Breakfast in the hotel. Sightseeing of Gdansk, one of the most beautiful Polish cities that together with Sopot and Gdynia identify the largest urban agglomeration of northern Poland, called Tricity. Guided tour of the historic center of which: Długa Street and its picturesque houses in late Gothic and Renaissance style, the Neptune Fountain which is the symbol of the city, Artus Courtyard, Long Market, the Golden Gate, the High Gate, the Church of the Holy Virgin Mary. Lunch in a restaurant. Afternoon, transfer to Oliwa (Gdansk district) to visit the Oliwa Cathedral with its famous Rococo organ. Finally, a pleasant excursion to Sopot, a seaside resort on the Gdansk Bay with the longest wooden pier in Europe. Return to Gdansk, dinner and overnight stay.
4th Day GDANSK / TORUN :
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Torun, for a guided tour of the medieval city founded by the Teutonic Knights in the 13th century. A magnificent historic center, which remained intact and not suffering the devastation of wars belong to the pearls of UNESCO. It is also known as the birthplace of a famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. Lunch in a restaurant during the visit. Accommodation in the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.


5th Day TORUN / WROCLAW :
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Wroclaw, the capital of Lower Silesia. Lunch in a restaurant. Afternoon dedicated to a guided tour of the city, nestled in the Oder plain that intersects it with numerous canals shaded by lime trees, rich in history and culture. You will visit: the old part then Ostrow Tumski, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, the Market Square with the picturesque Town Hall, the Hall of the Century (Centenary) and the University with the magnificent Aula Leopoldina. Hotel accommodation. Dinner and overnight stay.
6th Day WROCLAW /AUSCHWITZ – BIRKENAU / KRAKOW :
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Krakow with a stop in Oswiecim, for a guided tour of the Auschwitz – Birkenau Memorial and Museum, the former Nazi concentration and extermination camp, founded by the Germans in 1940, during World War II. Lunch in a restaurant and continuation of the journey. Hotel accommodation in Krakow. Dinner and overnight stay.


7th Day KRAKOW / WIELICZKA:
Breakfast at the hotel. Sightseeing of Krakow with its historic center, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978 as one of the most precious architectural complexes in the world. You will visit: Wawel Hill with the Royal Castle (external visit) and the imposing Royal Cathedral, where kings, heads of state and artists were crowned and buried. We continue along the Royal Route towards the Market Square, where the Cloth Hall is located - a symbol of Krakow trade and the Town Hall Tower. Instead, in the corner of the Square stands the Basilica of St. Mary, with one of the most precious masterpieces of the late Gothic period - a medieval altar carved in cedar wood by Veit Stoss in the 14th century. Lunch in a restaurant. Afternoon, excursion to Wieliczka, to visit the oldest salt mine in Europe. It is a unique place with chapels and caves carved in salt, some with underground lakes. The most spectacular chapel, all in salt, is the one dedicated to St. Cunegonda (Kinga) which can accommodate about 500 people. Return to Krakow, dinner and overnight stay.
8th Day KRAKOW / CZESTOCHOWA / WARSAW :
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Czestochowa, known as the spiritual capital of Poland. Guided tour of the Pauline Monastery on top of the Clear Mountain (Jasna Gora), where in the Chapel of the Miraculous Image there is the famous icon of the Black Madonna, which attracts thousands of faithful not only from all over Poland but from the entire world. Beyond the basilica, you will visit the Knights' Hall, the Treasury and the Arsenal. Lunch in a restaurant and continue to Warsaw. Hotel accommodation. Dinner and overnight stay.


9th Day WARSAW / DEPARTURE :
Breakfast at the hotel. Completion of the visit of Warsaw with a pleasant walk through the Royal Park of Lazienki, the most beautiful complex of gardens in Warsaw with famous monuments including Palace on the Island and the monument to the great Polish composer F. Chopin. Transfer to Warsaw airport and end of services.
